Los Angeles County Jail Inmate Reception Center – IRC

- This is a temporary holding facility and is the primary intake and release facility for male inmates in the Los Angeles County Jail System.
Men’s Central Jail – MCJ
Location: 441 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

- This complex, along with the Inmate Reception Center and Twin Towers, make up the world’s largest jail facility. The MCJ is located across the street from Twin Towers and houses the majority of LA County’s high risk, high security inmates. The capacity is around 7,000 inmates.
Twin Towers Correctional Facility
Location: 450 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

- Twin Towers consists of two towers, a medical services building and the Los Angeles County Medical Center Jail Ward. It is home to a number of maximum-security inmates and a large portion of the county’s mental and health inmates. The booking process here can take as long as 24 hours and release can often be delayed as much as 12 hours after bail has been posted.
Mira Loma Detention Center
Location: 45100 60th West, Lancaster, CA 93536

- This facility is contracted by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to detain illegal immigrants until their immigration situation in finalized. Detainees, rather than inmates, the people held here are typically not eligible for bail. In some cases, they may be eligible for an immigration bond.
Pitchess Detention Center – East and North Facilities
Location: 29310 and 29320 The Old Road, Castaic, CA 91384

- A maximum security complex capable of holding 1,500 inmates, inmates of Pitchess East and North facilities generally have their bail posted at the Twin Towers Jail and will eventually be transferred to the Men’s Central Jain to be released.
North County Correctional Facility – NCCF
Location: 29340 The Old Road, Castaic, CA 91384

- NCCF focuses on vocational training programs for inmates through educational, vocational and counseling programs. They are designed to assist in making inmates more self-sufficient. Bail bonds are not typically posted for this facility.
